There are many types of Fungi mentioned in the first couple of Ork books. Each, like the squigs serve a different pupose to the Orks. Now in keeping up with useless filler content for my blog, we will look at a different type of fungi each week. (Don't worry, I will post pics of my current projects soon, and not so much useless content.)
Today, we will look at the Rutted Gobbuster.
Sound familar? I think of the Everlasting Gobstopper from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I am kind of glad that GW did away with this type of silly fluff, but at the same time, it is fun. Thoughts?
This is not useless filler content! It's excellent content. Fungi and squigs are essential to Orkiness.
ReplyDeleteSorry dude, but I'm going to side with Porky here. That silly business in the first Ork books is brilliant - helps to flesh the Orks out beyond 'generic space barbarians'. Even when bits of it are reprinted, there's often something missing from it: it's like that godawful film version of 'The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy' that includes so many of the classic scenes, only with all the actual jokes taken out, and still expects them to be funny.
